<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P STYLE="font-weight:bold;"><SPAN><SPAN>Data current as of July 2025; Data published October 2025</SPAN></SPAN></P><P><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">This data item is maintained through the West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) Service Unit within the Information Technology Division.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The National Highway System (NHS) routes are managed with the Linear Referencing System (LRS) route network as an "event" or attribute layer. Changes to the NHS classification of a route are performed in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Where applicable, proposed changes are also coordinated through municipalities and/or Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs). As of 2025, approved changes to the NHS network are communicated to all WVDOT employees through an agency-wide memorandum.
